Efforts to Strengthen the Family Structure
The Departmental Government efforts to strengthen the family structure is advancing
- With great assistance from officials from different institutions and the community in general, the first "Family Dynamics Certification Course with an emphasis on Social Management and Entrepreneurship" was installed.
With the extensive assistance of the Departmental Administration officials and institutions committed to family protection, the first Diploma Course in Family Dynamics began today, with an emphasis on Social Management and Entrepreneurship, led by the Secretariat of Social Development, which is given by professionals from the Family Institute, from the University of La Sabana.
This space, of high academic content, is one of the steps taken by the Departmental Government in its effort to strengthen the social structure based on the knowledge of the factors that affect the island family and their environments. This is done with the purpose of designing methodological plans focused on reconstructing the social structure from its initial stage.
“This is an initial action of high importance that seeks to train those who will have the special mission of reaching the popular sectors, to promote activities that allow overcoming factors that are generating risk actions for the family structure today, and increasing social problem rates of all kinds,” said social worker, Kathleen Vivanco, assistant to the event.
With the support of the University of La Sabana, the Departmental Government seeks to rebuild the family's emotional ties from the constitution of the filial love of parents towards their children, as well as the treatment and interaction of other members such as brothers and grandparents and even those families with a different constitution where one of the parents are missing or where divorce cases or separations have occurred.
Professor Andres Cano, of the Family Institute, of the University of La Sabana, explained to the attendees that the essential approach must go beyond the constitution of the family, on the understanding that the family is not the fundamental core of society, as mistakenly believed.
“.. The fundamental nucleus of every society is not the family, it is the couple, because this union is the one that, with the strength of love, family structure and molds or influences to make it a piece of the society in which it functions. The children are the result of that action of love that starts from the couple and receive in a direct manner, the influence of the couple,” explains a specialist teacher.
