Jornada de Recolección Residuos Posconsumo

8.4 TONELADAS DE ELEMENTOS DESECHABLES FUERON DONADOS DURANTE III JORNADA DE RECOLECCIÓN DE RESIDUOS POSCONSUMO

* Durante dos días los isleños tuvieron la oportunidad de llevar sus objetos en desuso para que los funcionarios de la corporación Punto Azul realicen de forma correcta la disposición de los mismos.

La meta de 6 toneladas de desechos fue sobrepasada durante la III Jornada de Recolección de Residuos Posconsumo. De acuerdo con las cifras entregadas por el secretario de Servicios Públicos y Medio Ambiente Johan Mancilla Fayllace, un total de 8 mil 440 elementos fueron llevados al punto de acopio, ubicado a las afueras del Clarence Lynd Newball Memorial Hospital.

Dentro de los elementos recibidos destacaron:

1.   Luminarias: 375

2.   Computadores: 4.082

3.   Envases plaguicidas: 51

4.   Pilas 465

5.   Veterinarios 13

6.   Medicamentos: 2.994

7.   Baterías: 460

Según el jefe de cartera, tras la exitosa jornada, ya se está coordinando con la Fuerza Aérea para realizar la evacuación de los elementos.

“Muchas gracias a las personas que se unieron y participaron en esta gran jornada. Esperamos realizar muchas más jornadas de recolección de este tipo de residuos, que no están dentro del plan, pero que continuaremos apoyando porque estamos trabajando por dejar una isla más ecoamigable”, reiteró Mancilla Fayllace.

De igual forma, el comandante del Grupo Aéreo del Caribe, coronel Camilo Arturo Montenegro garantizó que los desechos serán transportados bajo todos los protocolos establecidos.

“La Fuerza Aérea está contando con unas aeronaves de transporte, que se estarán enviando desde el comando militar en Bogotá para poder evacuar este material. Como siempre, todas nuestras operaciones son bajo estrictas medidas de seguridad, embalaje y sellos”, garantizó el comandante.

Por su parte, el programa Entornos Saludables de la Secretaria de Salud participó en la actividad visitando casa por casa para recolectar materiales como luminarias, pilas, electrónicos, medicamentos de uso humano y mascotas, con el fin de sensibilizar e incluir a la comunidad en estos programas. Se realizaron visitas en sectores como Hoyo Soplador, Schooner Bight, Vista Hermosa, Las Palmas, entre otros, donde se recolectó un total de 149.92 kilos de elementos. 

En el Archipiélago de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina se han recolectado más de 1.600 kilogramos de residuos de medicamentos. De igual forma, se han ubicado 10 Puntos Azules, evitando que los residuos de medicamentos lleguen al mar, contaminando el ambiente y afectando la salud de las personas.

El Programa Punto Azul ha recolectado en sus nueve años de existencia más de 700 mil kilogramos de residuos posconsumo de medicamentos. Con más de 1.700 Puntos Azules distribuidos en todo el país, el programa cuenta con 285 laboratorios farmacéuticos nacionales y multinacionales asociados.

WITH THE GOAL OF EVACUATING MORE THAN 6 TONS OF WASTE, THE III POST-CONSUMPTION WASTE COLLECTION CAMPAIGN STARTED 

· The collection site is the entrance to the Clarence Lynd Newball Memorial Hospital.

· This activity is organized by the Punto Azul Corporation in partnership with the Departmental Government and Coralina.

· Those interested will have until Friday June 7 to bring their disused objects

With the objective of evacuating more than six tons of waste from the island, the third Post-Consumption Waste Collection Campaign was organized by the Punto Azul Corporation and supported by the Departmental Government and Coralina.

During the campaign, which will be held until June 7 at the Clarence Lynd Newball Memorial Hospital, materials such as batteries, computers, cell phones, chargers, cables and expired medications will be received in order to carry out the correct disposition of such

According to the Governor in charge of the Department, Juan Francisco Herrera Leal, this activity should serve as a basis to continue with the task of developing a proper model to remove these elements from the island.

Prior Consultation on the Formulation of Agreements and Protocolization at the Boaters Dock

PRIOR CONSULTATION ON THE FORMULATION OF AGREEMENTS AND PROTOCOLIZATION AT THE BOATERS DOCK

· Prior consultation will be held on June 10 at the General Archive Auditorium of located on the Hill and on the 11thof the same month, at the Departmental Assembly.

· This consultation will be an open space to dialogue for the joint construction of solutions that contribute to the improvement of the Department's resources.

The Departmental Government of San Andres, Providence and Santa Catalina, through the Secretariat of Tourism, is inviting the Raizal community to participate once again in the Prior Consultation Process on the formulation of agreements and protocolization at the boaters dock, located on Newball Avenue, diagonal to the OCCRE´s building.

The event, which will be held on June 10 at the auditorium of the General Archive Building, located on the Hill and on June 11thof the same month at the Departmental Assembly from 8:00 in the morning. We hope to have the participation of the Raizal People and the different parties involved in order to analyze the documents related to the formulation of agreements and protocolization of the dock located on the Newball Avenue.

It should be noted that this consultation will be an open space for dialogue for the joint construction of solutions that contribute to the improvement of the resources of the Department, for which the community is asked to attend.

Government Extends Restriction of Expenditure and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages

FOR 30 MORE DAYS, THE DEPARTMENTAL GOVERNMENT EXTENDS RESTRICTION OF EXPENDITURE AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN SECTORS OF THE ISLAND

· The restriction will start from June 1stto July 1st, 2019. 

· Morris Landing, Tablitas, Cocal, Cliff, Modelo, New Guinny

New Guinny, Simpson Well, Barack, Natania and its sections, Matlina Hill and Perry Hill are sectors where the restriction is applied.

By means of Decree 0280 of May 31, 2019, the Governor in charge of the Department, Juan Francisco Herrera Leal, in use of his legal faculties, extended for 30 more days the restriction of sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages from 6:00 p.m. on Fridays until 6:00 a.m. on Mondays.

The Decree adds that it extends to Tuesdays until 6:00 a.m. when Monday is a holiday. This order will run until July 1, 2019 in the sectors of Morris Landing, Tablitas, Cocal, Cliff, Modelo, New Guinny,Simpson Well, Barack, Natania and its sections, Matlina Hill, and Perry Hill.
