· The event will include the participation of island artists J Villareal, Boce and Toña, who will contribute their grain of sand for the well-being of the island's ecosystem

The Interinstitutional Committee for Environmental Education, formed by the Secretariat of Public Services and Environment, Coralina, the National Police, Trash Busters, the Botanical Garden of the National University and the ICBF, is inviting the community to participate in a day of cleaning and embellishment to be carried out in ​​Juan XXIII Avenue, in the framework of the celebration of Earth Day.

The event, which will take place this Saturday, April 27 from 8:00 in the morning, has as objective to achieve the transformation and recovery of spaces, through art and the use of solid waste.

The campaign will feature the participation of island artists J Villareal, Boce and Toña, who will contribute their grain of sand for the well-being of the island's ecosystem, using white line waste, plastics, papers and other elements to create a large mural allusive to the environment of the Archipelago.

According to the secretary of Public Services and Environment, Johan Mancilla Fayllace, the Interinstitutional Committee for Environmental Education wants to give this gift to the community, in order to start raising awareness about the importance of recycling and making a good disposal of waste.

"There will be a work of art that will be in charge of three important and outstanding artists of the island, J Villareal, Boce and Toña, who carry out a great social work implementing this type of artistic work in the Department. The event will start from 8:00 in the morning and, apart from the work that will be done, we will be closing the road for the other communities to participate with us,"said the secretary of Public Services and Environment.

The space is dedicated to creativity and care for the environment which will end with a door-to-door awareness and environmental education campaign.
