Fisherman´s Place Dock And Restaurant The Cove
GOVERNMENT SOCIALIZED WITH ARTISANAL FISHERMEN OF COVE THE RENOVATION PROJECT OF THE FISHERMAN´S PLACE DOCK AND RESTAURANT
* The work will have duration of 10 months.
* The Government expects to start construction work in the month of July.
The Departmental Government, through the Secretariats of Agriculture and Fisheries and Tourism, held a meeting in the Fishermen's Cooperative of Cove, whose objective was the revision of the improvement and construction project of the Fisherman´s Place dock and restaurant.
According to the secretary of Agriculture and Fisheries, Anthony Roja Archbold, what is sought is to guarantee the operation of the establishment, which has become one of the most representative places on the island.
"In this meeting we had the participation of Fonade, among others, which are the entities that have the resources to initiate and give continuity to the project. It is a project that has been developing for more than four years and at the moment it was paralyzed. Thanks to the initiatives of the Departmental and National Government, we were able to reactivate it and rescue the available resources," said the secretary.
The work, which has an estimated time of 10 months, will have a total renovation, using materials of excellent quality.
"This project contemplates the total change, that is, the total repair of the entire infrastructure work of the dock. It will have a dining room, cold rooms, lockers for fishermen and a small dock for them to disembark. It is undoubtedly an infrastructure project that mainly benefits artisanal fishermen and the community of Cove," added Rojas Archbold.
For his part, the Governor in charge, Juan Francisco Herrera Leal, highlighted the willingness of the fishing community during the socialization of the project. The official assured that, during the execution of the work, the opinion of the community will be taken into account, since it is a job that will be for the enjoyment and economy of the community of the sector.
"The proposal of designs for the restaurant was socialized with the fishermen of Cove. This was approved by the attending fishermen, who were very happy with the presentation. This means that, in mid-June, once the project is awarded to the contractor firm that wins, the 10-month process will begin. We hope that, after that time, the restaurant is ready to offer its gastronomic services, "concluded Herrera Leal.
