SECRETARÍA DE PLANEACIÓN MODIFICA CONVOCATORIA PÚBLICA PARA COMPLEMENTAR EL CONSEJO DEPARTAMENTAL DE PLANEACIÓN

*El plazo para la recepción de las ternas se extendió hasta el martes 7 de mayo hasta las 5:00 de la tarde.

La Secretaría de Planeación informa que se extendió el plazo hasta el martes 7 de mayo para la presentación de ternas para hacer parte del Consejo Departamental de Planeación.

El registro de las ternas se realizará hasta las 5:00 de la tarde en la oficina de la Secretaría de Planeación, ubicada en el tercer piso del Coral Palace.

De igual forma, la dependencia informa que, debido a un error de digitación, se incluyó en dicha convocatoria al Sector Económico, el cual ya cuenta con sus puestos de representación asignados según la Ordenanza 007 de 2015.

NEW GENERAL SECRETARY TOOK OFFICE IN FRONT OF GOVERNOR IN CHARGE, JUAN FRANCISCO HERRERA LEAL 

* Javier Ferreira Bohorquez stressed that his tenure as Secretary General will focus first on the change model of the Governmental Administration, a process that has already begun to develop.

* Javier Ferreira Bohorquez is a Maritime Administrator of the Almirante Padilla Naval School. He is a specialist in Logistics and Maritime Policy and Strategy of the Naval School. In the same manner, he is a candidate for a Master's in Strategic Thinking and Prospective from the Externado University.

Continue with the process of implementing information technologies, managing human resources, changing the operation model of the Departmental Government Administration, among other projects which Javier Ferreira Bohorquez seeks to develop, after being appointed as the new General Secretary.

The appointment took place this Wednesday, April 17 at the Meeting Hall of the Coral Palace. During the possession, the Governor in charge of the Department, Juan Francisco Herrera Leal, stated that the appointment of Ferreria is due to his great achievement at other entities, management that the current administration needs to continue working in all contractual processes.

Cultural Holy Week

As part of the celebration of Holy Week, the Secretariat of Culture is preparing for Thursday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, a Gospel concert, where an invitation is extended to all children and youth choirs of the churches of San Andres and Providence who would like to participate.

To this glorious event, the families of the islands as well as visitors are invited to attend this season of reflection, praise and rest.

"The idea is that each choir makes two participations with songs alluding to Holy Week to emphasize the fervent aspect of this week which invites us to reflect on many things,"said Juan Williams, Departmental Secretary of Culture.

For Holy Saturday, from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. on the Pedestrian Boulevard (Path Way) at the height of the I Love San Andres sign, the Secretary of Culture will have a wide cultural exhibition for residents and tourists.

There will be dances, music and typical foods, as main components of this encounter, as well as the participation of two musical groups which will offer with much respect the cultural contribution to this commemoration of Holy Week.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO AVOID DENGUE

· It is recommended to go to the doctor with these associated symptoms.

The Departmental Government, through the Secretariat of Health, is informing the community of the Departmental Archipelago of San Andres, Providence and Santa Catalina islands that, due to the El Niño phenomenon, we have seen the increased risk of acquiring dengue: also, before the national alert due to the increase of cases in some Departments of the country, it is recommended to take the following measures to prevent the proliferation of the transmitting mosquito, Aedes Aegypti:

- Keep water tanks tightly covered.

- Pick up residue where water accumulates such as tires, cans or abandoned bottles.

- Wash water tanks weekly with chlorine and a brush with hard bristles to eliminate mosquito eggs which adhere to the walls of the tank.

If you have any of these symptoms, you should go to your Health Provider Institution or to a Medical Center near you:

- High and intermittent fever that does not easily give in to medicines,

- Pain in the bones 

- Outbreak

- Red eyes

- Appetite loss

- Abdominal pain

WITH IMPROVEMENT COMMITMENTS BY OPERATORS AND BUSINESS OWNERS, INSPECTIONS FINISHED AT TOURIST DOCKS OF THE ISLAND

· During the two inspection days there were certain faults that must be corrected with urgency, taking into account that it is intended to certify the destination as high quality.

With inspection and control campaign at the Tonino's and Police Tourist Docks, and the Boaters Cooperative located on the pedestrian pathway of Spratt Bight, the Secretariat of Tourism, together with Dimar, the Attorney´s General Office, Tourism Police, Coralina, among other entities, certified that the tour operators have the infrastructure and adequate services for visitors.

According to the Secretary of Tourism, Yadira Olivo Florez, during the two days of inspection, certain faults were found that must be corrected with urgency, taking into account that the destination is to be certified as high quality.

In the same manner, she added that meetings will be held with tour operators to inform on the changes they must make to their businesses in order to provide an excellent service to tourists.

"The first measure is to make owners of establishments and properties understand that no one can exercise tourism activity without control,"said Olivo Florez, Secretary of Tourism.

Clean areas, with enough space for visitors to move, adequate with chairs and restrooms in perfect sanitary conditions, spaces to deal with emergencies and the main thing, businesses that have the National Tourism Registry, are the main demands made by the officials to the operators.

"We cannot allow them to take over public space and low-tide areas.  Cordial invitation was made to operators who are making unauthorized sales to move out because we do not want to come and remove them, it is not the idea. We know that it is their economic activity, but do it in a legal way. Processes must be followed and permits must be requested,"added the Secretary of Tourism.

Continuing with the findings, the official referred to the excess and bad management that is being given to advertising.

"Operators are using advertising unconventionally. We invited business owners to remove the advertising and they very kindly agreed. They understood that this is a totally friendly verification and control. We came with some verification processes and they have not complied, so we had to do this verification,"concluded Olivo.

The Secretariat of Tourism will continue with the inspections, which have as fundamental objective to know first-hand and without filters the current state of the services that are provided to visitors and to tend for their improvement.

RECOMENDACIONES PARA EVITAR EL DENGUE

· Se recomienda acudir al médico ante sintomatología asociada.

La Gobernación Departamental, a través de la Secretaria de Salud le informa a la comunidad del departamento archipiélago de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina islas que, debido al fenómeno del niño, se ha visto incrementado el riesgo de adquirir la enfermedad del dengue, así mismo, ante la alerta nacional por el aumento de casos en algunos departamentos del país, se recomienda tomar las siguientes medidas para prevenir la proliferación del mosquito transmisor, Aedes Aegypti:

- mantener los tanques y depósitos de agua tapados herméticamente.

- recoger los residuos donde se acumule agua como llantas, latas o botellas abandonadas.

- lavar los depósitos de agua de manera semanal con cloro y un cepillo de cerdas duras, para eliminar los huevos del mosquito los cuales se adhieren a las paredes del tanque.

Si presenta alguno de estos síntomas debe acudir a su IPS o al centro médico cercano a su residencia:

- fiebre alta e intermitente que no cede fácilmente a medicamentos, 

- dolor en los huesos 

- brote

- enrojecimiento de los ojos

- pérdida de apetito

- dolor abdominal
